Installation and Commissioning

Precise implementation for reliable emergency power operation

The reliable operation of an emergency generator begins with professional installation and careful commissioning. AKO supports this project phase with its own specialist personnel and clearly defined processes – tailored to the previously planned system, the site and the operational requirements.

Site-specific and application-specific planning for existing infrastructures

The focus is always on the specific application scenario: which processes need to be protected? Which legal, structural and operational conditions apply on site? On this basis, AKO develops a technically sound solution that functions reliably both now and in the long term. Generator engineering and design is always carried out in close coordination with operators, planning consultants, architects and electrical contractors.

Even during the planning and design phase, AKO takes into account the structural, electrical and operational conditions on site. The aim is to ensure seamless integration of the emergency generator into the existing infrastructure – regardless of whether it is a containerised unit, a permanently installed system or a bespoke solution. This reduces interface issues and avoids the need for later modifications.

Your benefits as an operator or planner

Installation and commissioning are an integral part of AKO’s generator service – from the initial planning stage through to ongoing operation.

  • Professional installation by AKO’s own personnel
  • Clear interfaces and a structured process
  • Smooth initial commissioning
  • Handover to generator maintenance and service

Documentation and handover of the system

Following commissioning, the installed system is fully documented. This forms the basis for subsequent operation, maintenance measures and internal verification on the operator’s side. Our on-site team ensures that the system is handed over in a clear and traceable manner. And afterwards? With AKO, you continue to have one clear point of contact throughout the rest of the lifecycle.

On-site installation – aligned with the overall system

Installation is carried out on the basis of the preceding planning and design work. Depending on the configuration – whether a containerised system, permanent building installation or bespoke solution – AKO undertakes installation of the generator including all relevant ancillary components.

Among the aspects taken into account are:

  • integration into the existing infrastructure
  • connection to electrical, mechanical and fuel systems
  • implementation of fire protection and safety requirements
  • coordination with the trades involved, such as electrical contractors and site management

Commissioning with functional testing

Once installation has been completed, the emergency generator is commissioned step by step. The aim is to ensure the correct functioning of the complete system and prepare the installation for subsequent operation. The scope of testing depends on the particular system and the scale of the project.

  • inspection of the installation and connections
  • functional testing of the system
  • trial runs to verify operating behaviour
  • handover in a fully operational condition

Ready for operation

As a German manufacturer with a high level of in-house production, AKO lays the foundation for emergency generators that function reliably both in planned use and in emergency situations – designed with technical expertise, experience and a clear focus on what matters.
